Job Summary:

Family Life Radio, a leader in Christian Broadcast Ministry for over 40 years, is seeking to fill our Production Editor position at our corporate office in Tucson, Arizona.  The Production Editor produces radio program elements, short features, and spot promotions using standard Digital Audio Workstation software, computers, and equipment. Responsible to write scripts and create productions that communicate the messaging of the various assigned campaigns in a way that is consistent with the values and branding of the broader Family Life Communications ministry. Works autonomously under general mentoring and specific instruction from the Director of Production.

No relocation assistance provided with this position.

Essential Functions:

  • Writes creative script concepts and messaging; turns those scripts into professional, compelling, spiritually and emotionally-moving radio productions. Writes and produces with a listener-focused perspective pursuing brand-focused, effective production practices
  • Produces various campaigns, short features, and production projects that meet the standards of excellence of the FLC Corporate Production Department
  • Delivers projects with outputs ranging from simple to complex in the number and programming of elements; attends meetings, writes scripts and edits using multi-track production software and production equipment; delivers on time every time
  • Generates, processes, and maintains accurate campaign documents communicating details of campaign messaging and operations. Maintains an organized computer hard-disk file system that follows department protocol, maintaining all digital assets of campaigns and projects in an easy-to-understand order
  • Helps internal clients achieve their campaign goals by communicating clearly and logically with co-workers and maintaining efficient production workflows that support campaign requirements and other internal processes
  • Independently manages personal work schedule and detailed project tracking in order to complete recurring and short-term assignments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong skills in using SONY Vegas and Sound Forge, Adobe Audition, or equivalent applications. Able to cross-train on similar DAW applications
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to write, edit and proof radio scripts and business documents
  • Ability to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in (internet) research and database use
  • Flexibility/ability to work extended work schedules depending upon event and/or workload
  • Biblical knowledge and demonstrated personal Christian integrity in order to create appropriate campaign messaging
  • Required to deliver indisputable excellence professionally and spiritually

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Communications, Digital Media or other related area from a two-year college or technical school
  • Three (3) years professional, creative script-writing and radio or video producing experience using multi-track DAW applications and PCs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Digital Media or related area
  • Five (5) years high quality radio producing and editing experience using multi-track DAW applications
  • Experience with pod-casting and producing interactive media content
  • Experience with video production/video editing
  • Proficiency with Final Cut or similar programs
  • Experience working with Six Sigma Quality Assurance Methodology
