- Broadcast Traffic Manager

Job Summary:
Family Life Communications, a leader in Christian ministry for over 40 years, is seeking a self-motivated individual who has a heart for service. The Broadcast Traffic Manager works with the Director of Programming to create weekly program logs for scheduled programs; assigns material to appropriate time slot. Ensures on-air excellence by effectively scheduling and managing rotations of network music and station campaigns using a computerized scheduling system.
No relocation assistance provided with this position.
Essential Functions:
· Generates weekly program log/schedule as determined by the Program Director; verifies correctness of programs and issues program schedule changes and/or additions as needed
· Oversees programming projects from inception to completion; coordinates programs for teaching formatted stations; administers regional breakaway time slots and coordinates network wide drives with CT; oversees programming special music formats (e.g. Christmas in July)
· Coordinates national and local campaigns; balances campaign rotation to provide on-air excellence; regulates which campaigns have the highest priority; effectively communicates these needs to all departments
· Coordinates with marketing and/or promotions departments (CCA & CT, respectively) to ensure proper logistics/scheduling for on-air programming
· Merges RCS Selector and Linker to create one log for on-air staff and Operations to follow each week
· Effectively communicates to the Operations team weekly assignments and campaigns
· Prepares reports detailing technical discrepencies; notifies appropriate personnel of system malfunctions
· Maintains programming logs or other operational procedures as required by the organization and the Federal Communications Commission
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Strong PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
· Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control and operation of broadcast communications systems
· Demonstrated ability in how to properly ingest programming into a server
· Knowledge of federal broadcast rules and regulations
· Knowledge of broadcast traffic operations
· Troubleshooting, analytical and critical thinking skills
· Ability to determine causes of operating errors and quickly determine the best next course of action
· Strong reading comprehension skills with ability to understand information and ideas presented in writing
· Strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Passion for Christian broadcasting
Qualifications and Other Requirements:

Required Education and/or Experience:· Associates degree or two (2) years technical training AND two (2) years experience in broadcast traffic operations OR
· Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by FLC’s Human Capital Resource Management Department
· Two (2) years experience writing and troubleshooting digital audio automation system playlists
· Two (2) years experience in automation software e.g. BSI Wavestation; Scott’s Studio
· Two (2) years experience in scheduling software e.g. Music Master; Program Log
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelors degree in Broadcasting or related field
· SBE Certified Broadcast Network Technologist
· Four (4) years related experience and/or training
· Four (4) years experience writing and troubleshooting digital audio automation system playlists
· Experience using DAD automation
· Experience in GSelector or Selector scheduling software
· Experience specific to radio and/or Christian broadcasting
· Knowledge of & experience working with Situational Leadership II methodology
· Knowledge of & experience working with a Six Sigma Quality Assurance methodology
