The Intentional Living Center’s “Love Your Marriage Night” events in the Phoenix area last weekend were attended by more than 2,000, many of whom accepted Dr. Randy Carlson’s Intentional ONE THING Challenge.

Dr. Carlson, President of Family Life Communications and host of Intentional Living on more than 200 radio stations, taught couples in Cave Creek and Glendale, Ariz., how to improve their marriage through love, respect and a life in Christ. Intentional Living challenges participants to do ONE THING for 30 days until it becomes a habit.

“The entire audience not only was equipped with powerful marital advice, but they all heard the plan of salvation and had the opportunity to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior,” said Evan Carlson, Vice President of Ministry for Family Life Communications.

cave-creek-lymnCarlson estimated 80 percent of the attendees at the North Ridge Community in Cave Creek and the Community Church of Joy in Glendale pledged to take the Intentional ONE THING Challenge.

“After Dr. Carlson hosted ‘Love Your Marriage Night’ on Friday and Saturday nights, he then was asked to fill the pulpit that Sunday morning at Community Church of Joy in Glendale and share the Intentional Living message in three Sunday morning services, before an audience of over 1,000 people.,” Evan Carlson said.

“Both events sold out in advance,” Promotions Manager Mike Spiva said, “because couples want to make their marriages stronger.”

“There was a lot of excitement from participants,” Spiva said. “They received life-changing information.”

One woman said she was surprised to see so many people in attendance.

“I thought I was the only one struggling,” she told Video Producer, Derek Carlson.

Dr. Carlson said, “Audience feedback revealed two things couples would like to see in their own marriages: More tenderness and less criticism.”

“I thought those observations were very interesting,” Dr. Carlson said.

“Tickets for three more ‘Love Your Marriage’ events in Michigan are going fast,” Spiva said.

Future dates include:

“During and after the event, Intentional Living books, DVDs, CDs and artwork/posters were on sale,” Spiva said.

“It’s a good way for people to take the event home with them,” he said.
