Senate Republicans don’t want Chuck Hagel to lead the Pentagon. They voted against the nomination. Democrats didn’t come up with enough to pass him through. Democrats vow to take the issue up again after a 10 day recess. This is the first time in history the Senate has required a nominee for secretary of defense to clear the 60 vote hurdle before a final, majority vote.
When you file your taxes, data will be gathered for health care benefit eligibility. Meg Sutton from H & R Block says "the Affordable Care Act passed in 2010 by Congress and upheld this past summer by Supreme Court. It is the single biggest tax code change in the last 20 years. It will affect about 20 Million Americans. The 2012 tax return, the one you file now is important to determining eligibility (if you qualify for assistance to help you cover health care costs in 2014)." Click here for more info.
We pray you Experience Hope through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Employees of Family Life Radio are taking the 30 day challenge and helping a family in need. Hope is the name of this single mom with four children. Steve Wright outlines some of the tangible needs FLR employees have been meeting for this family. We called the Salvation Army and set up housing and drove them there and they got a meal. We then took groceries and cookware to them, the next day. As the journey continues, we’ll let you know how the family is doing.
