The United States is pledging military resources to help South Korea. US Deputy Defense Secretary Ashton Carter says North Korea threatens war against South Korea. Carter says recent threats have turned the world against them. Tensions have been high there since Pyongyang performed its third nuclear test last month.

In honor of National Red Cross month, have you given blood lately? Bobbi Snethen of the Red Cross says the number one reason they found people don't donate is because no one asked. We want to explain the benefits for the patient on the other end. It's a perishable product. There really is no substitute. To replenish, they treat you in the canteen after with some snacks.
