Finding Freedom from Childhood Pain

My memories of childhood are dominated by my mother’s continual attempts to take her life. When I was eight, my mom shot herself in front of me. I remember lying on top of her, pleading with her not to die. She survived, but finally succeeded in taking her life.

My childhood life left me feeling unloved. I spent my life since then trying to feel loved and trying to medicate the pain. After the birth of my second daughter, at the age of 24, I got into the drug scene with meth. After I had my fourth daughter, I became a full blown addict. Eventually, I ended up in prison.

Once I was released from prison, I relapsed again and became a meth drug dealer and I.V. drug user. I came so close to death numerous times, yet God had a different plan for my life. Eventually, I cried out to God on my knees. I cried so hard I thought blood was coming out of my eyes. I believe to this day it was Jesus’ blood delivering me from my addiction!

I haven’t touched a drug or anything to alter my mind to this day. God has given me back my life – a life I NEVER knew was possible.
