Purpose in the Humdrum

I’ve been struggling to find God in the monotony of the buzzing around me. I’ve wondered how I can take part in the Great Commission when life seems to stand still as I take up mop and bucket once again, keeping me from reaching out to the farthest corners.

Yet who says that a family member well-fed, clothed in clean attire, encouraged by a thoughtful note and rested cannot be an extension of my own self as they blaze their daily trails. My work is not in vain nor of less value simply because I cannot always see the fruit of the harvest.

God may choose to use me in a dynamic way someday, but until then the humdrum (as some would see it) is where I am right now. Despite the crags that lie on the path of one in transition and seeking, I strive toward the goal and desire to serve my Savior.
