The Little Things
Josh Wilson Helps Others Through Tough Times
When it comes to
being intentional about helping others, Josh Wilson lets his music and his
website do the talking.
Inspired when one of
his friends went through a difficult divorce, Josh created WhenIFallApart.com
in conjunction with the single “Fall Apart” from his See You release. On the site, listeners tell about the hard times
they’ve made it through because of Jesus Christ.
Among the hundreds
of testimonials was this account from Amber:
“I
had betrayal by a man that I had been close friends with since 1986 and dated
in the recent year which devastated me. I more recently had a health issue
arise which was probably because of the weakened immune system due to all the
stress and lack of sleep,” she wrote. “The Lord and some of his angels,
including you, have sustained me when I literally gave up.”
“The website is a
place where people have shared their stories and said, ‘This is something
terrible that has happened to me, but here’s the beauty that’s come out of this
because of Jesus and the hope I have in Him’,” Josh said. “We know as believers
that the things that happen to us are only temporary. Some day we will see
Jesus face to face, and He will hold us together even when it feels like
everything is falling apart.”
Since his debut in
2008 with the album Trying to Fit the
Ocean in a Cup, Josh Wilson has been encouraging and helping others. He
reaches them through his original songs’ heartfelt lyrics and unique covers of
familiar hymns like “It Is Well With My Soul” and “Amazing Grace.”
A pastor’s kid who
grew up in west Texas,
Josh is the middle child between two sisters. He and his wife of two years live
in Nashville
and do all they can to reach out to their local community, volunteering in a
rescue mission and regularly visiting a 93-year-old widow.
“It’s the little
things,” he says. “Christ calls us all to look for ways to serve and they don’t
have to be huge things to be intentional with our time and kindness.”
