Sarah Reeves Has a Clear Sense of God’s Calling

Growing up in a family of musicians, Sarah Reeves knew she wanted to be a rock star. But while attending a youth camp at the age of 15, God impressed upon her to become a worship leader.

“For the first time in my life, I saw teenagers radically pursuing God with all of their hearts,” Sarah explains. “That’s when He really humbled me and He messed up my life completely and said, ‘Sarah, it’s not about you. Your life is all about me.’ That’s when He called me to be a worship leader.”

Since that time, Sarah has been intentional in her worship and in leading others in worship. “From then on He just opened up all the doors and I started leading worship at my church,” she says joyfully.

The young Alabama native joined the youth worship band and soon was leading worship for her church youth group. With a blend of hard work and natural talent, she began writing worship songs. Her songs resulted in a reputation of inspiring teens to respond to the call of worship.

Sarah was introduced to some of Nashville’s most sought after songwriters, resulting in more than 70 songs from which she assembled her debut album, Sweet, Sweet Sound.

Birthed out of a writing session with another songwriter, the title single came about while they were singing other worship songs. “This song is just the true definition of worship. Worship is more than a song, more than a service, more than going to church on Sunday mornings and singing. It is truly our lives.”

Another song on the album, Come Save, was inspired by 2 Chronicles 7:14 which is a passionate plea for God’s intercession in a broken world.

“I have one goal and one true destiny,” Sarah declares, “and that is to bring people to the heart of God, to help them understand His love, His mercy, and the freedom and power of worship. My goal is to lead the nations into His arms. That’s my calling.”
