Amarillo FAQs

Where did 102.9 go?

It wasn’t an easy choice to make, but Family Life Radio recently sold the station. Even though the sale is not yet complete, we will stop broadcasting on March 22, 2014, because in integrity, we didn’t feel we should be on the air raising funds for the upcoming spring sharathon.

Why was it sold?

Family Life Radio is a non-profit network of stations that relies almost solely on listener donations. Unfortunately, financial support from the Amarillo community and the surrounding area was simply not enough to fully support the local station over the past few years. Continuing without adequate local support wouldn’t be a wise stewardship decision.

Who bought the station?

Midessa Broadcasting Limited Partnership

Were any staff let go as a result of this sale?

No – All our announcers continue to be heard on other FLR stations across our network.

How can I still hear Family Life Radio?

You may listen 24/7 via our online stream. You’ll continue to be able to listen to the same music, programs, and announcers you’ve always enjoyed!

In addition, our flagship program, Intentional Living will no longer air on 102.9, but is also available on demand at TheIntentionalLife.com.

Both Family Life Radio [iOS] [Android] and Intentional Living [iOS] [Android] are also available on our mobile apps, which can be easily downloaded.

We would appreciate your continued prayers for us and hope you’ll continue to listen online.

I am grieved at the loss of 102.9.  It has been my mainstay since 2002 and I will miss it greatly. I have listened to it at work and at home almost continually.
