Community Connection

When I asked some Family Life Radio members how I can pray for their community here’s what they told me.

In Phoenix they’re dealing with opiate addiction and domestic violence.  They have a praise as well, the number of kids in the foster system has dropped significantly in the last three years.

In Albuquerque, we could pray for unity among the body of Christ and that Convoy of Hope would meet the needs of the community and glorify God.

In Macon, there needs to be unity among the leaders. Families are bombarded with spiritual attacks, please pray for a solid foundation in the Word.

 

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—  for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior,” 2 Timothy 2:1-3

 

Faithfully Following // Elevation Worship

Chris Brown from Elevation Worship shares the story behind their song Do It Again.  He says it is about God’s faithfulness. Our testimony is one of the most powerful tools we have as a follower of Jesus. Remembering how God has been there for you is a way to worship Him. It is a way to share Him with others.

 

 

When you think of quitting, remember God is for you. God is with you.

God’s Unrelenting Love // Lincoln Brewster

Lincoln Brewster reminds us there is No One Like Our God. There is no one so big, so vast. He holds it all in His hands. He is in total control. He reaches us to each of us. He shares His unrelenting love, grace and mercy. He is the author of our salvation! There is nothing that can separate us from His great Love.  

 

 

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

God’s Angels

Molly has experienced the protection of God’s angels. Molly’s foot got caught  when she was working  on strawberries in the backyard. While she was falling, she thought she was going to get hurt pretty seriously. She didn’t want to get injured. Because of the circumstances surrounding the fall and the placement of her landing, she feels God protected her with His angels. Gravity would normally mean she would have hit some blocks with her ribs, instead she fell on the grass. She’s not an athlete, but yet, she didn’t get hurt!   She thanks God for the protection of His angels.

 

 

Once Lost, Now Found

When we misplace something and think it is lost, it leads to celebration when it is found. Family Life Radio Member Alesia is thrilled she could be a part of a friend’s lost and found story.

 

 

The celebration of finding the lost item is so much bigger when it is a spiritual loss.

Here’s the highlights of The Parable of the Lost Son found in Luke 15.

 

There was a man who had two sons. The younger one asked for his share of his dad’s estate. The younger son moved away and squandered his wealth. When he came to his senses, he thought about going back home.He figured he’d ask to be one of his father’s servants so he would have food. When his father saw him. He was filled with compassion for his son. The son apologized. The father told his servants to prepare a celebration feast. “For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.”

Overflow of the Heart

When you seek God, you get filled up on Him. It spills over into wanting to help others learn about Christ and sometimes that means helping them with tangible needs so your actions of service show the love of Christ.

If you could start an organization to help others, what would it be and who would you help? Mike says he and his wife write bible studies that are used in prison. Everyone can do something. Ask God what He’d have you do. You don’t have to go to a foreign country to be a disciple. Keep your eyes open and reach out to others in need.

 

 

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25

My Weakness, His Power

Jubilee feels worn out because she stutters. That’s why she connects with the Tenth Avenue North song Worn, we play here on Family Life Radio. She identifies with the lyrics that say “I know that He can give me rest. So I cry out with all that I left.”

All of us have some sort of thorn in our flesh. The enemy wants us to believe that we can’t be used by God because of it. The Apostle Paul is a good example of that.

 

 

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Forgive Yourself

Our children are our future, that’s why one Family Life Radio member is praying for her middle school students. She worries about them because they have so many new avenues of temptation in this social media driven culture. She sees the poor choices some of them are making. She prays for them to recognize it’s not too late. They can turn around. God Loves everyone of them. All they need to do is to ask God for His forgiveness and forgive themselves. God can help reshape the future.

 

 

Let’s pray for our teachers who have the opportunity to influence the lives of students. We can pray that they will show Jesus love to their students.

 

As the Need Arises, It will be Provided!

I don’t remember a time when God has not been faithful. God is faithful. Take every opportunity to give a shout out to God. His timing is perfect. God makes a way.

He will supply all of our need.  Not needs with an “S” (plural). As it arises, it will be provided.

God provides gas money for the car and food. He provides for our need. Sometimes when I think I need something, God shows me I don’t need this right now. If I don’t need whatever that thing I asked for is, I must not need it, but He will provide contentment.
