CALL TO WORSHIP - SUNDAY, MAY 20th

THIS WEEK WE WILL BE SHARING THOUGHTS OF HOW WE CAN GET TO HEAVEN. HOW WE CAN OBTAIN THE LEVEL OF RIGHTEOUSNESS THAT IS REQUIRED FOR US TO HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD ALMIGHTY AND OBTAIN ETERNAL LIFE.

THE SAD THING IS THAT MANY PEOPLE THINK THEY CAN LIVE A "GOOD LIFE" AND IN THE END THEIR GOOD DEEDS WILL SOMEHOW OUTWEIGH ANY BAD THINGS THEY HAVE DONE. THE BIBLE IS VERY CLEAR IN ROMANS CHAPTER 3 THAT "ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD...THERE IS NO ONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE!" THEN HOW CAN ANYONE THEN BE SAVED IF THEY CAN NEVER BE "GOOD ENOUGH?"

THE ANSWER IS FOUND IN EPHESIANS 2:8&9 - "FOR IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED THROUGH FAITH, AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD, NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANYONE SHOULD BOAST." IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF GOD'S GRACE AVAILABLE TO THOSE THAT PLACE THEIR COMPLETE TRUST IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

SCRIPTURE FOR WEEK - PSALM 98 (NIV)

1. Sing to the Lord a new song,

for he has done marvelous things;

his right hand and his holy arm

have worked salvation for him.

2. The Lord has made his salvation known

and revealed his righteousness to the nations.

3. He has remembered his love

and his faithfulness to the house of Israel;

all the ends of the earth have seen

the salvation of our God.

4. Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,

burst into jubilant song with music;

5. make music to the Lord with the harp,

with the harp and the sound of singing,

6. with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—

shout for joy before the Lord, the King.

7. Let the sea resound, and everything in it,

the world, and all who live in it.

8. Let the rivers clap their hands,

let the mountains sing together for joy;

9. let them sing before the Lord,

for he comes to judge the earth.

He will judge the world in righteousness

and the peoples with equity.
