The Senior Production Editor performs a variety of highly critical ministry tasks that include, but are not limited to; researching, procuring and producing brand aligned content that supports the Intentional Living (IL) daily program, and producing and re-purposing audio content to also be leveraged throughout all ministry channels of Family Life Communications. Also manages the strategic flow of callers and guests for the Intentional Living daily radio program.


Produces and edits audio content for the program using standard PC-based multi-track editing software

  • Conducts original content interviews that capture content for features used in the IL program and repurposed across all FLC channels; these include, but are not limited to, experts or specialists in topics related to the (5) five essentials of Intentional Living: finances, work, faith, health, and family
  • Researches topics and content to enable a robust and strategic delivery of the IL message on the Intentional Living Program and via various other communications channels for FLC
  • Procures or harvests content for the IL Program via established FLC audio libraries and archives
  • Strategically coordinates the occasional booking of guests and callers who desire to engage with Dr. Carlson independent of a live program, driving content towards emphasizing relationships in various contexts; also serves as liaison between those seeking a forum on the IL Program, such as authors and speakers and others, and the program, selecting, in coordination with the Senior Producer, content opportunities to fit the brand-aligned strategies of the program
  • Provides talking points for the producer, technical director, and host of the program for use when recording or conducting live interviews
  • Writes for and assists in managing the daily Show Highlights page on the web site, strategically placing content related to that day’s program, a daily resource link to the IL Store, guest information and link, and other pertinent information germane to the topic of the day
  • Assists with the presentation of LIVE IL programs by accomplishing tasks such as technically preparing the studio and control room for the program, operating the mixing console, and/or screening phone calls
  • Assists with recording sessions by preparing the studio and control room and operating the mixing console
  • Writes, edits, proofs, repurposes, and updates content from various Ministry Channels for use in IL Programs and IL short-form features
  • Manages all assigned projects and production schedules independently, using standard project management software, delivering all projects on-time every time
  • Participates in regular IL Team Meetings and Messaging Coordination Meetings


  • Organizes hard-drive digital assets according to a finely detailed structure that enables efficient asset management and archiving; May engineer/operate audio control board for live Sharathon broadcasts, following established format


  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and, or combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) years professional, creative script-writing and radio producing experience using multi-track DAW applications and PCs


  • Proven creative and innovative “out-of-the-box” thinker; demonstrates knowledge of effective, contemporary radio production methods and tools used industry-wide
  • Knowledge and proven ability to edit audio utilizing multi-track editing software on a PC platform; strong skills in using SONY Vegas and Sound Forge, Adobe Audition, or equivalent applications. Able to cross-train on similar DAW applications
  • Proven ability to write listener-focused production scripts that delivers results
  • Proven ability to direct voice talent performance that meet the high quality goals of the production
  • Proven project management skills: ability to plan and perform complex work in a fast paced work environment where only general policies or procedures are available
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to write, edit and proof business documents
  • Strong presentation skills
