Your Respect Dare for today: Ask the Lord to work in your heart and mind, so that as you are busy with your work (be it at home or the office) you are reminded to seek the Lords approval and not the approval of man. Spend so time in prayer asking God to move in your heart and mind in this area of your life.

Your Love Dare for today.  Look back over the dares from previous days. Do they reveal a difficulty in your ability to love your spouse? Have you realized your need for God to change your heart and give you His ability to love? Ask Him to show you where you stand with Him and give you the grace to seek Him, ind Him and walk with Him.

Your Love Dare Today: Make a meal (or get carryout) and spend some time listening to and getting to know your spouse better. Love is intimate. How much do you KNOW about your spouse? Their dream, fears, challenges? Find out today!

Your Respect Dare Today: Compliment your spouse in public. Brag on them in front of someone else. THEN…put the letters CH on your calendar twice a week for the rest of this and all of next month and on those days, COMPLIMENT your HUSBAND.

This morning we talked about the role faith plays in where you shop.  CNN’s Religion Blog lists 10 companies that have a Christian heritage.

1. Chick-Fil-A:   Truett Cathy’s work ethic was forged during the Depression.  He took a tiny Atlanta diner and turned into Chick-fil-A, and then turned his attention into developing young people.

2. Forever 21:   Young women’s clothing company which prints John 3:16 on the bottom of its shopping bags.

3. Tom’s of Maine: A natural home products company started by Tom Chappell and his wife Kate.  He almost quit to pursue full-time Christian ministry, but a professor at Harvard Divinity School advised him to make his business a ministry.

4. Tyson’s Foods, Inc.:   The world’s largest chicken company employs a team of chaplains who minister to employees.

5. Hobby Lobby:   The chain of more than 450 arts and crafts stores says in their mission statement – “Honoring the Lord in all we do by operating the company in a manner consistent with Biblical principles”.

6. ServiceMaster:  Founded in 1929 by Marion Wade, who was said to view each employee and customer as someone made in the image of God.  They own Terminix and American Home Shield.

7. Herman Miller:   Michigan-based furniture maker prides itself on environmental philanthropy and is often on Fortune’s annual list of Best Companies To Work For.

8. Interstate Batteries:   The car battery giant is very open about their faith in their training and intra-company communication.  Former president Norm Miller moved to the role of chairman to allow more time to address Christian audiences.

9. In-N-Out-Burger:   In-N-Out has printed citations of Bible passages on cups, wrappers and other packaging.

10. Walmart:  Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart, used Christian servant leadership models to build the company.

TODAY’S RESPECT DARE: Proverbs 15:1 says “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”  So today’s dare is to choose from this day forward to speak fewer words .. and to make those words count.  That way others will know that when you speak, it matters.  If you feel you need to vent, do that to your Heavenly Father or with a trusted friend.

TODAY’S LOVE DARE:  Begin building emotional intimacy with your mate.  Determine today to guard their secrets and to pray for them.  Listen with acceptance, and make them feel safe!

Remember to tell us you’re taking the LOVE/RESPECT DARE by signing up for the 30 day challenge on our home page.

It’s Love & Respect Dare Day 15!

Today’s Respect Dare: Think about how fortunate we are in America, materially speaking.  Just doing a quick online search on poverty will reveal the kinds of conditions so many people around the world live in.  So today’s dare is to simply be content.  Thank your husband for the way he provides for your family, whether that’s through his job or in other ways, like helping out around the house!  Then prayerfully thank God for giving you what you have.

Today’s Love Dare:  LISTEN!  Honor your wife by listening more attentively and respectfully.  Honor her by giving greater weight to her words and requests.

This morning we shared two Father’s Day short stories from the book Dad in my Heart by Joe L. Wheeler. Shannyn read What My Daughter Taught Me About Love by Robert Fulghum and Peter read The Snob by Morley Callaghan- The book was released on Tyndale Press.

Your Respect Dare of the Day: Think about one area of your home of life which desperately need to be decluttered and organized. If nothing comes to mind-pray for the Lord to reveal something to you which needs to be put in order and then DO IT! Don’t try to tackle a huge project in one day…this is about a 15 minute dare: GO!

Your Love Dare of the Day:  Demonstrate your love by willingly choosing to give in to an area of disagreement between you and your spouse. Tell them you are putting their preference first!

Have a blessed weekend! We appreciate you!
