Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Recipe!

Shannyn crosses her heart-it’s DELISH! Try it with the kiddo’s and see if it doesn’t pass! (from

  • 240 grams yellow-skinned cooked potatoes, peeled (approx. 1 & 1/3 cups cooked potato)
  • 6-7 tbsp pure maple syrup*, or to taste
  • 3 tbsp cashew nut butter*
  • 1/2 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp fine grain sea salt, or to taste
  • 1/4-1/3 cups dark chocolate chips

1. Peel and roughly chop the potatoes. Cook the potatoes in a pot of water on the stove-top until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain.

2. In a food processor, immediately add the cooked potatoes (still hot), nut butter, vanilla, and maple syrup. Do not use cold potatoes or the texture will be like mashed potatoes instead of a silky dip. Process until smooth for at least a couple minutes, stopping to scrape down the bowl as necessary. Make sure no clumps remain. You want it super smooth. Adjust sweetness if necessary and add salt to taste.

3. Place mixture in the fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes (preferably an hour) to chill and then stir in the chocolate chips just before serving. Serve the dip with graham crackers, fresh fruit, cookies, cinnamon sugar pita chips, or my favourite way, a spoon.

Just for today, your dare is to say nothing negative at all. If you can’t think of a kind way to say what’s on your mind, vow-just for today-to say nothing.

Look for opportunities to bring warmth to the coldness in his or her life. If possible, give them an unexpected, tender touch. Choose a gesture that says, “I cherish you.” and do it with sincerity.

It’s Love and Respect Dare Day 10

What achievements have you accomplished with God’s help?  Whatever we pay attention to grows.  God tells us in Philippians 4:8 what we are to think about.

Your RESPECT DARE today is to pray for God to enable you to see life through the lens of the Holy Spirit; To give you the ability to see what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy.  Then pray for his strength to accomplish this.

Today’s LOVE DARE:  Do something out of the ordinary for your spouse – something that proves (to both of you) that your love is based on your choice and nothing else.  Examples could include: Wash her car; Clean the kitchen; Fold the laundry (Bonus points for putting it away).  Demonstrate love to them for the sheer joy of being their partner in marriage.

It’s Love and Respect Dare Day 9

Your RESPECT DARE today is based on Luke 6:37 ~ “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

Think about whether your husband confides in you more now than when you were first married.  Then, ask if he considers you a good confidante?  Are you a safe person to take his challenges to?

Your LOVE DARE today: Think of a specific way you’d like to greet your spouse today.  Do it with a smile – with enthusiasm.  Then determine to do that EVERY day, to reflect more love for them.

It’s Love and Respect Dare Day 8!

Your RESPECT DARE today: Think about 5 positive attributes or strengths that were reasons enough for you to marry your husband?  Write them down, ask God to show you examples of how your husband still possesses these strengths, and then settle on 1 of them and remind your husband of how much you appreciate that trait in him today!

Your LOVE DARE today: Reject any jealous thoughts, and instead focus on becoming your spouse’s biggest fan.  Share how glad you are about a recent success or blessing she has enjoyed!

It’s Love and Respect Dare Day 5!

Your RESPECT DARE today: God’s word tells us in James to be quick to listen and slow to become angry. THAT is today’s dare. JUST FOR TODAY, don’t argue with your husband about anything. If you think you disagree with him, ask a gentle question for clarity. This is not an exercise in being a door mat, it’s an opportunity to see how self controlled you are. Pray for the Lord to help you in that area today.

Your LOVE DARE today: Ask your spouse to tell you three things that cause her (or him) to be uncomfortable or irritated with you. You must do so without attacking them or justifying  your behavior. This is from their perspective only.
