Brokenness Before God
How Worship Can Lead to Miraculous Healing
Worship can draw us closer to God and heal us in ways we may never expect. Thrive Worship uses their music to create a space for God to perform miracles, bring healing, and provide deep personal transformation. Worship leader, songwriter, producer, and artist Corbin Phillips with Thrive talked to us about his firsthand account.
His personal journey of battling anxiety and panic attacks for nearly two decades shaped the heart of one of their most powerful songs, “Pour Your Spirit Out.” Through worship, humility, and the power of prayer, Corbin’s testimony has inspired others to experience God’s healing. Could you be next?
Corbin’s Battle with Anxiety
If you’ve ever struggled with anxiety, you know how isolating it can feel. “I battled anxiety, panic attacks for 19 years,” Corbin shared candidly. Being honest about his brokenness became a crucial part of his healing process.
Worship served as a platform to share his story and invite others into their own healing journeys. Thrive Worship performed “Pour Your Spirit Out” during a Bible conference and something unexpected happened. Corbin recalled, “We had a moment where we prayed after that song … [a lady] sitting with her husband, who had gone blind in his right eye, and as we prayed, they started praying for him.”
The woman turned to her husband and saw tears streaming down his face. “She asked, ‘Are you okay?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, I can see out of my right eye again.’”
Imagine witnessing something like that during worship—a man experiencing the return of his sight, not through medical intervention, but through the power of God during prayer and music.
Worship can open doors for miracles, healing, and divine intervention.
Corbin shared how important it is to get “real” during worship and to share those moments of struggle and victory with others. “There’s something that happens when you share in your brokenness. It creates space for others to bring their own struggles before God.” Humility before God that creates a space where people can experience their own breakthroughs during worship.
An Invitation to Healing
Whether you’re battling anxiety, dealing with physical illness, or just carrying the weight of life’s challenges, healing is possible. As Corbin’s story shows, it may not always happen overnight, but God is working—even when we don’t see it.
Sometimes, all it takes is a song, a prayer, and a measure of faith.
