Rescued from the Depths of Despair
HOPE and STRENGTH for Jessica
2020 was a tough year for all of us.
But for Jessica of Michigan, it was almost a deal breaker.
“I’ve really struggled,” she said. “My life was a mess. My son was estranged from me got to a point where I no longer wanted to be alive. I just wanted to die.”
The music and programs YOU make possible through Family Life Radio quite possibly saved Jessica’s life!
“I’m not really sure I would be here today if I had not turned on the radio and started listening,” said Jessica.
One day, Jessica was driving in her car, feeling especially depressed. As her mind played out various suicidal scenarios, God spoke to her . . .
“A song came on the radio that really touched my heart,” said Jessica. “Then another and another, as if they were playing just for me.”
The lifesaving message Jessica needed in that moment came through Family Life Radio—thanks to YOU and others who give so generously!
“I knew it was God talking to me through those songs,” she said. “He was telling me not to give up on hope, that He was there for me, and that I truly was stronger than I believed.”
Hope across the airwaves

“Your songs really touch my soul,” says Jessica. “They give me a newfound hope. Hope and strength to keep going, to keep praying and to just keep listening. I just want to say how amazing your station is. Thank you!”
On behalf of Jessica and so many others who experience healing and hope through the Christ-centered messages you make possible through Family Life Radio, thank you!

God’s One Desire
It’s been God’s desire from the very beginning that His children would know and follow Him (Deut. 11)…
“Fix these words of mine on your heart and minds… talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deut. 11:18–19).
Thank you for making it possible for God’s messages of love, hope and healing to be heard far and wide through songs and teachings on Family Life Radio.
Whether in cars, homes or workplaces— early in the morning, late at night and every moment in between—you are fixing people’s hearts and minds on Jesus! Thank you!
Yours in Christ,
Evan Carlson

Kankelfritz and Friends: a “family” across the airwaves

“Many listeners tell us, ‘You’re my family!’” says Sally. “It’s because our show is more conversational radio. We’re not just a DJ reading a card and going to the next song.
“Family Life Radio is definitely all about the listeners. Radio is unique in that we are approachable. You can’t just call an anchor on TV or phone into a podcaster.
“Here at Kankelfritz and Friends, we’re here to laugh with you and to cry with you. And we’re here to get up early with you too!”
Join Kankelfritz and Friends every morning and start your day with your favorite Christian music, encouraging conversation and fun!

The generous support you and other faithful friends provide, in partnership with local
businesses and ministries, shows the love of Christ to our communities. Thank you!
Taking Hope to the Streets of Arizona
Through your support, Family Life Radio partnered with Hope Kids AZ [Link to: hopekids.org] for their Hope Walk event, a car parade for families with children who are suffering from life-threatening medical conditions. We were there, cheering them on, playing music and giving out fun gifts from a safe distance.
A Prayer Parade in New Mexico
New Mexico Prays prayed around their community like Joshua marched around Jericho! The socially distanced event featured the Family Life Radio van leading 33 cars and 21 motorcycles as they engaged with the many prayer tents and pastors set up along Route 66. 2,000+ participated in the Facebook live event.

Your act of kindness provides healing for a healthcare hero
This past year, our world has been dominated by some heavy issues… COVID-19… Gun violence… Anti-police sentiment.
To be in the middle of any of these situations would be horrible. But to experience all three… unimaginable.
When we first met Lisa last fall, she had just gotten off a night shift at the hospital where she worked as a nurse. She was tired and had only slept for two hours after her shift.
Radio event to honor healthcare workers
Through your support, Family Life Radio partnered with Vivid Hair Studio and In and Out Barber in Albuquerque to honor COVID healthcare heroes like Lisa with free salon services. “I really need some calm, peace, rest and support in my life right now,” Lisa shared as she settled into the salon chair. “It’s been so difficult to work under COVID restrictions.”
A haircut and a heart-to-heart for Lisa
As Lisa and her stylist made small talk, Lisa began to open up.
She shared that her 27-year-old son Zachary had recently been murdered. He was found by the police laying dead in the middle of the street, shot to death.
“They haven’t found the people who shot him,” said Lisa, “which has made it so difficult to move forward.”
And if her story couldn’t possibly get worse, Lisa’s husband is a retired police officer so the anti-police sentiment has made life even harder for the grieving parents.
As our Family Life Radio team prayed for Lisa, she welled up with tears. “I know God has me,” she said.
Thank you for helping make this event possible. Because YOU and others give so generously, God worked through a random act of kindness to soothe Lisa’s soul and help heal her heart. Thank you!

A Note From Evan New Year, New Beginnings
With 2020 in the rearview mirror, the new year is before us — a blank slate, full of new opportunities.
As you step into this new year, I encourage you to take every opportunity to follow Jesus’ leading to “remain in me” (John 15:5).
How do we do that, to “remain in Him”? Well, here are a couple of practical ways…
1) Stay connected to God’s Word. Plug
into it every single day.
2) Tune into Family Life Radio. Surround
yourself with hope-filled, joyful music.
3) Join the 30-day Challenge. Commit to
a month of daily Family Life Radio.
May you and yours be blessed beyond measure in this new year and always.
Yours in Christ,
Evan Carlson

Last October, at age 80, Roger Bonney went to be with the Lord. Roger was the last surviving founding Family Life Radio board member still faithfully serving the ministry until he stepped into Jesus’ presence.
He leaves a rich legacy of wisdom and insight as a successful business manager and student of God’s Word. On staff with Family Life Radio for over 40 years, Roger will be remembered as a humble, soft spoken man who always gave you a smile and a word of sincere encouragement. We are forever grateful that Roger chose to invest so much of his life sharing the gospel through Family Life Radio.
