Authority Over Fear
Fear is a powerful emotion, often creeping into our lives, whispering doubts, and casting shadows over our hearts. But as children of God, we have been given authority over fear.
“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”
– Luke 10:19 ESV
Fear often tries to paralyze us, making us forget the authority we have been given through Christ. Yet, the Bible clearly states that we have been granted us power over all the enemy’s schemes, including fear. This divine authority is a gift, allowing us to walk confidently in the face of any challenge.
God has given you authority over fear and all the power of the enemy.
Luke 10:19 reminds us of the authority bestowed upon us by Jesus. This authority isn’t just for extraordinary challenges but for everyday fears that attempt to shake our faith. The imagery of treading on serpents and scorpions signifies overcoming dangerous and intimidating situations through the power of Christ.
As believers, we must understand and embrace this authority. Fear loses its grip when we stand on the truth that nothing can harm us because of the power God has placed within us. Jesus’ victory over death and the grave assures us that no fear is too great to overcome.
Today’s One Thing
Pray: “Lord Jesus, thank You for the authority You have given me over all the power of the enemy. Help me to remember that fear has no hold over me because of Your victory. Strengthen my faith and courage to walk in this truth daily. Fill me with Your peace and confidence, knowing that I am protected and empowered by You. In Your mighty name, I pray. Amen.”
