Believe God Will Answer

Do you give up on a prayer when God doesn’t provide an immediate answer? In today’s culture of instant gratification, we are conditioned to expect on-the-spot results. This is not, in most cases, God’s way. There is a benefit to the discipline of persistent prayer.

When you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
─ Matthew 6:6 NKJV

The evangelist R.A. Torrey prayed faithfully for his brother’s salvation. For fifteen years, Torrey never missed a single day of praying for him. And just when it seemed utterly hopeless, his brother accepted Christ.

Keep praying until God answers.

Daniel (yes, the one that went to the Lion’s Den) prayed every day. He petitioned God in prayer and fasting for an answer. The answer came 21 days later. God sent an angel to answer Daniel’s prayer and let him know that He had responded immediately, but the enemy fought the angel to keep him from bringing God’s reply (Daniel 10).

So be encouraged. God hears your prayers and will answer you in time.

Today’s One Thing
There’s something in the past you prayed for but gave up on. Put that request back on the top of your list today—and don’t stop praying until God gives you the answer.
