Beneficiaries of His Blessing
“So that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
─ Titus 3:7
Aaron switched off the mower and surveyed his work. He and his wife, Candi moved into their spacious first home a few weeks ago. It was in a great neighborhood, just minutes from their jobs.
Candi called to him from the deck holding two glasses of ice tea in her hands. “I thought you might like a drink after you mowed the backyard,” she said.
“Can you believe this is our first home?” he asked.
“We are so blessed,” she replied.
“I know my parents struggled financially when they first started out,” Aaron said. “They lived in a small mobile home on a friend’s farm. Then we lived in apartments. I guess they were married ten years before they owned a home. And we’ve only been married a year.”
“The blessings we have today aren’t a result of our hard work, but the blessing of the Lord passed from generation to generation,” Candi reminded him. “You have a strong spiritual heritage. Your mom told me that your great-grandmother, who died before you were ever born, prayed every morning for God to grant her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with His favor.”
“Yes, you have family who were like that too,” Aaron said. “I am so grateful that God’s mercy and grace is not limited. It gives me hope that I can trust God like my family members before me. God is good to us!”
