Brave and Audacious Faith

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

─ Luke 12:32

The more we experience God’s goodness, the more we trust Him to do what is best for us. The more we trust Him, the easier it is for us to let go and put our lives in His hands. Once we truly believe it gives our heavenly Father pleasure to give us His best, we can accept that He won’t withhold any good thing from us as we follow Him (Psalm 84:11).

When Jesus called out to Peter to step out of the boat and walk on the water to Him, Peter stepped out in faith. But he began to sink in fear as he noticed the water beneath him, along with the rolling waves and wind. The same is true when God asks us to step out and do something by faith. We often are excited to join Him in what He’s doing. The reality of the circumstances begin to impede our thoughts and suddenly, fear reminds us that we are no longer within our comfort zone.

Our faith becomes great when we settle the truth in our hearts that God is good; He wants only to do good for us; and we can trust Him completely with our lives. Once that happens in our hearts and minds, we can silence thoughts like, what if He doesn’t hear my prayer? What if He doesn’t come through for me? Then we can be brave and exercise audacious faith.
