Breathe Easy
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

Breathe Easy
It can be a simple phone call, an email or even a text message that causes you to draw your breath in and hold it. Immediately, the heart begins to beat faster, the blood pressure rises and your mind spins trying to sort it all out. Sound too familiar?
The verse today encourages you to hold fast to faith in God and refuse to panic. He has promised to always be with you and to never give up on you. Look at that last sentence: “What can mere mortals do to me?”
Do you spend time thinking about what others think about you? Does their perception matter? What about the things people do to you that upset you and cause you disappointment? Your contentment in life can determine your peace – mind and body.
The Lord is your helper, your confidant. Your life is eternally safe and secure in your salvation. Nothing can be done to you to take that away from you. And God is on your side. You have His assurance to always be with you. You can breathe easily because your hope rests in Him.
Today’s One Thing
Pray this prayer today. Lord, thank you for your promise to never leave me or forsake me. My confidence rests in you. Help me to let go of any anxiety or fear and trust you. I am content because my hope is in you! Amen.
