Come Up Higher
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Come Up Higher
How many times have you looked back on past disappointments and how miniscule your plans were compared to what the Lord had planned? His plans for us are GOOD! Our plans, no matter how brilliant or strategic they might be on our own, can never deliver the GOOD He has prepared, yet we struggle to let go of our own agendas. Only when we surrender our will, can we fully experience His better plan.
The Lord stands above all the chaos of our lives and calls us to come up higher, to see things from His perspective, as best we can. Look at the Lord’s words in our verse today. He declares our thoughts and our ways are nothing compared to His. And then He draws a picture – the space from earth to the heavens is how far our thoughts are from His.
You can experience things from God’s perspective by faith. You can come up higher as you practice:
- Letting go of trying to control the situation.
- Waiting on the Lord for His timing.
- While waiting, pouring your heart out to Him daily.
- Learning to rest in Him.
- Aligning your heart to His will by reading the Bible.
- Listening to the voice of the Lord.

Reread the verse for today. Look at the list of things you can do to come up higher. Choose ONE THING from the list to practice diligently for the next seven days.
