Complete Sovereignty

When difficulties and hardships occur, it is easy, and perhaps innocent, for individuals to ask the big question – Why? Why do bad things happen to good people? On this side of heaven, only well-crafted speculation and a Holy Spirit inspired answer filled with grace can bring adequate consolation to a suffering person, especially if that someone is you.

The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules overall.
─ Psalm 103:19 ESV

The Bible is clear that faith in Jesus Christ does not grant a life of serenity, but it can be filled with joy, peace and grace from Him. Complete sovereignty is God’s absolute position, authority and supremacy over all things. He is the maker, creator and sustainer. He is your rock and foundation for life.

Sometimes the Lord gives you the experience to bless or teach you. Some moments are based on the Lord allowing your decisions to come to fruition, while other occasions were not in your control whatsoever. And, some of your highs and lows are not about you.

God is the author and creator of all things, and He desires to help His children during the good and not-so-good times.

Prayers of appreciation, praise, and supplication during all circumstances acknowledges your faith in the Lord’s complete sovereignty. The Lord has full control over all things. All your pinnacle and valley moments are under His authority and power.

Your trust in Jesus brings peace and reassurance to you during the most challenging times. Faith in Him to believe for His intervention and resolution to difficulties offers assurance that all will be okay.

Today’s One Thing

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1 ESV). Meditate on this verse and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the things for you to relinquish control and trust in the Lord.
