Embrace God’s Gift of Creativity
We often think of creativity as something reserved for artists, musicians, or those with a unique talent. But creativity flows from the fabric of every one of us—because we are made in the image of the ultimate Creator.
And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold and silver and bronze.
– Exodus 35:31-32 NKJV
Whether you paint, sing, write, or simply find joy in making a home warm and welcoming, God gifted you with your creativity—a unique opportunity to reflect the beauty of the One who formed you.
God meets us in creative moments and uses our gifts to bring joy, healing, and connection. From Jon Reddick’s childhood experiments with music to his journey of leading worship, he watched how God planted seeds to nurture his gift all along. Creativity became a bridge that connects him to God and to others.
Embrace your unique creativity as a miraculous reflection of the God who created you.
Each of us received the same invitation. God can use what you create—whether it’s a song, a meal, or a conversation—to reach someone’s heart for Him. He works through our imperfect offerings to weave beauty into the lives around us.
But stepping into creativity can feel scary. Perfectionism whispers, “It’s not good enough.” Fear says, “What if no one cares?” Yet, God is not asking for flawless work; He’s asking for your heart. In the raw, unfinished moments, He meets us.
God’s presence is with you as you create. Your creativity can break down walls and bridge the gaps across generations, cultures, and hearts. It carries the message of God’s love in ways words cannot. So, what has God placed in your hands? What creative spark have you been afraid to fan into flame?
Today’s One Thing
Take one creative step this week. Paint, sing, write, bake—whatever brings you joy. Offer it to God as an act of worship. Ask Him to use it to bless someone.
