Expect Divine Intervention

God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend. For to the snow he says, “Fall on the earth,” likewise to the downpour, his mighty downpour.

─ Job 37:5-6

According to a Fox News article, on a Friday in mid-July, Morgan Lake came to a stop on Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay Bridge to pay a toll. Through her rearview mirror, she watched a large tractor trailer truck come up fast behind her and strike the back of her car. It launched her over the edge of the bridge and 40 feet into the water below.

Once in the water, Morgan panicked. She was unable to unlock her seatbelt. The car was quickly overtaken by the rushing water. She was certain she was drowning, but somehow, filled with hope, she told herself she was not going to die.

Refusing to surrender, she reached for God. She said God touched her shoulder and pushed her into her car seat causing her to relax. Morgan believes divine intervention allowed her to unlock her seat belt, climb out of the driver side window and swim to shore.

God does things we cannot comprehend. He saves in ways we can’t even imagine. For Morgan He provided peace and clear thinking so she could get free. For us it may be an unexpected check in the mail or a job offer just before foreclosure. Perhaps it’s a gentle nudge to drive a different direction that saves us from an accident. God does great things, and with Him nothing is impossible!
