Faith – the Core Foundation

Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.

─ Ephesians 5:8-10 ESV

God works in powerful ways. He loves you and wants to help you find passion and purpose in life. He understands and cares about your challenges, whether it’s health, relationships, finances or your career. He wants you to walk with Him every day and reap the blessing of walking in loving obedience to Christ.

Ephesians 5:9 encourages you to walk as a child of His light. And verse 10 challenges you to find out what will please Christ, and then do it. One rule of Intentional Living is that you are 100 percent responsible for what you think, what you feel, how you interact and what you do every day. It’s your choice each day to take responsibility for your own thoughts, emotions and actions.

Faith is the foundational part. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Faith is trusting in the unseen, but not the unknown. You’ll see the evidence of God’s transformational power every day in the lives He impacts. This justifies your faith and gives you a sense of knowing assurance in His “unseen” reality.

Today’s One Thing

Think about the ways God worked, initially unseen, in your life. When His intentions were finally revealed, how did you feel? Telling your story increases your faith and encourages others in their walk. Ask God for the opportunity to tell your story. When He does, be obedient to share it with others today.
