Finding Your Worth as God’s Child

We live in a world eager to define our worth by our accomplishments, possessions, or appearance. It’s easy to feel caught in an approval-seeking, chasing the next thing to fill the void. But none of those things can tell you who you are. Your value rests—not on what you do, but on who God says you are. You are His, and you are loved.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
– 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV

God sees you as His child, created in Christ Jesus for good works. When you understand this truth, it will secure your confidence in knowing who you are. Validation from others is nice, but the Creator chose you. Knowing you are made new in Christ anchors your self-worth. The old labels—failure, unworthy, unseen—have been covered by new labels—worthy, powerful, loved. You are a new creation, formed with intentionality and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live out God’s purpose for your life.

Your identity in Christ frees you to embrace who God made you to be. You are not an accumulation of your past mistakes. God crafted every detail about you, from your personality to your abilities, for His glory. Your worth rests entirely in what Christ has already accomplished on the cross. You are worthy to proactively pursue the dreams He has given you to bring Him glory.

Your worth is secure in Christ and who God says you are.

When you walk confidently, knowing you belong to Jesus, you see yourself as God does. You’re not defined by criticism or rejection because your value doesn’t come from people. Instead, you can live boldly, knowing that God’s love for you is unchanging and His plans for you are good.

The more you focus on who He says you are, the more your confidence will grow in the One who calls you His child.

Today’s One Thing
Thank Christ for His commitment to make you God’s child, and declare, “I am God’s child, created with purpose and made new in Christ. My worth is not in what I do, but in who I am in Him.”
