Follow Jesus, the Standard of Truth

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Follow Jesus, the Standard of Truth

Helen has watched what appeared to be a grandfather with his grandson sitting a few rows in front of her at church. She commented to her husband how they looked so much alike. They both stood tall, and she watched a sweet and joyful exchange between the two during the worship service.

Then at the end of the service, the grandfather stepped behind the grandson, gently placing his hands on his younger image, as he stepped around him to walk to the altar. The grandson turned and followed him forward.

Jesus is the source of all truth, and He sets the perfect standard for us to follow in what pleases the Heavenly Father. He frees us from self-deception, slavery to sin and Satanic influences. He shows us the path to freedom to follow God. When we live our lives following after Jesus, His truth sets us free to become all God desires us to be.

When others follow you, as you follow Jesus, the truth you experience will lead them to their own relationship with the Father.

Today’s One Thing

Ask God to open your eyes to see who is watching you and how you can point them to Jesus.
