Freed by God’s Word

But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

─ Micah 7:7

It’s easy to become caught up in life’s worries, like a fish caught in a net. Freedom comes when we are cut free by the Sword of the Spirit – God’s word.

Overwhelming, uncontrollable, unexpected circumstances in life can drain us and even try to convince us that we should just give up. Our emotions take a toil on our physical bodies and we feel like we’ve given all we can. We pray and ask God for help, but the help doesn’t seem to come fast enough – so then what?

As we start turning the pages of the Bible for encouragement, we can allow the words of truth to strengthen us, inspire us to stand firm and believe that His help is on the way. We can begin to declare what God says about our situations. His Words found in the Bible are spirit and life (John 6:63).

God’s Word also refreshes us as we read the Bible. We can remind ourselves that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13). He is our help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). His arm is never too short to reach out and save us (Isaiah 59:1).
