Freedom’s Price

“Freedom is not free, but it’s worth the price.” Perhaps you have read or heard a similar phrase, most often referencing a physical military battle designed to strip away individuals’ freedom or cultures. The phrase, however, is also applicable to a spiritual battle fought for you.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

─ 2 Corinthians 3:17 ESV

On the battlefield, infantry soldiers must be willing to obey orders and give their all to win, especially when freedom is at risk. A physical battle is not a game. It must be executed with precise strategy and 100% commitment. While this approach reflects upon armed military forces, it is also the same approach for spiritual warfare and pursuing your soul’s freedom.

God created everything, but man rejected His instruction, causing a sin-filled world. God created a divine strategy with 100% commitment and gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for our disobedience. Because Jesus lived a sinless life and gave His life as a ransom for anyone who accepts Him as Savior, He won the battle for your soul and offers you spiritual freedom.

Jesus’ sacrificial death and resurrection was an “all-in” commitment to provide you spiritual freedom and a way to an abundant life.

The ultimate freedom price has been paid for you, and Jesus willingly obeyed God so you can have life abundantly and free from sin. The enemy is real, and he doesn’t want you to accept freedom. The enemy wants to keep you bound with lies and twisted thoughts. Jesus, however, was willing to fight the battle and pay the price for your freedom. The key is your willingness to accept Jesus as Lord.

If you have yet to discover spiritual freedom by receiving Jesus into your heart and life, please take a moment to recognize God for who He is, admit that you are a sinner, believe Jesus paid the price and receive His forgiveness for your sin. Invite Him to become Lord of your life. By accepting Jesus as your Lord, you can celebrate the joy of knowing true freedom.

Today’s One Thing

Leave any sinful past behind you and pursue God. He has a divine plan for all who accept Him as Savior. If you have already accepted Jesus as Lord, take time to praise Him for the freedom He has given to you.
