God Goes Before You

Life shifts in ways you never expected. One day, everything feels settled, and the next, change knocks on your door, uninvited, and unavoidable. A new opportunity arises, a season ends, or an uncertain path unfolds before you. In those moments, questions flood your mind. What comes next? Will this be good? Can you handle what’s ahead? While you may not have all the answers, you can hold onto this truth—God goes before you.

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
– Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV

Nothing catches God off guard. He doesn’t scramble to adjust when your life shifts. God prepared your next steps long before your new season appeared. He knows what’s ahead. He set every detail in place, not just for survival but for your good. When God led Israel into the Promised Land, He didn’t send them in alone. He went before them, clearing the obstacles, preparing their hearts, and proving His faithfulness. He does the same for you.

Change is inevitable, but God has prepared your way for your good.

Instead of stepping forward with fear or creating a bunch of negative “What if” statements, you can step forward with faith. Instead of grasping for control, you can surrender to His wisdom. You may not see every detail, but God does.

God isn’t waiting for you to figure things out. He is already there, preparing, guiding, and making a way. Instead of fearing what’s ahead, trust and surrender to God. The path may not always be smooth, but He is steady. Change may feel uncertain, but He is unshaken. You can move forward in peace. God has already gone before you and prepared your way.

Today’s One Thing
Release your control and any worries over to God, thank Him for the next steps He has prepared for you, and declare, “I trust you, God. Thank you for preparing the way. Your presence leads me, and Your faithfulness sustains me.”
