God Kind of Faith

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

─ Hebrews 10:23

Elisha, God’s prophet for more than 50 years, confirmed God’s commanding but caring nature to everyone who asked for his help. He saw more in life than those around him because he understood there was more to life than the physical realm.

One morning, Elisha woke to his servant having a breakdown because they found themselves surrounded by their enemy – the Syrian army. The servant saw life from a natural perspective and had already conceded they were condemned. But Elisha’s spiritual eyes were opened to see God’s army surrounding the Syrian army.

Elisha prayed for God to show his servant what he saw. When the servant’s eyes were opened to God’s perspective, he saw a multitude of angelic forces, complete with horses and chariots of fire (2 Kings 6:15-17).

Sometimes we allow ourselves to be limited to what we can see with our physical senses. We are deceived, believing God’s supernatural forces are not at work in our lives simply because they’re not tangible to us. As a child of God, He has given us the ability to experience a God-kind of faith. That is the true hope for everyone who believes.

Today’s One Thing

Pray and ask God to give you spiritual eyes to see Him at work in your life. Carry an expectation with you to see Him in a new way today.
