God’s Love is Permanent

“I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.

─ Jeremiah 31:3 NLT

Dean grabbed a clean dish rag, wet it and moved to the dining table to wipe it off before dinner. He stopped abruptly and stared blankly at his four-year-old daughter’s rendition of a family portrait drawn onto the top of the oak dining table. The beautiful table, a family heirloom, was a gift his great-grandfather had made for his great-grandmother. And now … it was ruined Dean thought.

“What are you going to do,” his wife asked softly from behind him. “You’ve seen this?” he asked, as he spun around to face her. His anger quickly subsided as he peered into the same sweet face his daughter had. They looked so much alike.

He suddenly heard an inner voice: “My love for you can never be removed. I’ve placed my mark forever on your heart.” Suddenly his daughter’s art on a family heirloom became a story that would always remind him of God’s everlasting love.

Jeremiah 31:3 describes the never-ending love the Heavenly Father has for you. His love will never fail. There’s nothing you can ever do that would make Him love you less. His love for you can’t be removed. Your heart is forever marked with His everlasting love.
