He’s Working for Your Good

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

─ Romans 8:28-29 NLT

If you’ve ever dumped a 1,000-piece puzzle out, the first thought of trying to fit those little intricately shaped pieces together can seem overwhelming. Most of the time you have a picture to view so that you have somewhat of an idea of how the pieces fit together.

The puzzle is a good example of how the pieces of our lives come together in God’s hands. When we first see the puzzle pieces of our lives poured out, we can be tempted to give up or quit as we try to figure out how it all fits together. No doubt you’ve asked, “God, how does this piece fit into your purpose and plan?”

Remember, even if we don’t have a clear image to look at, He is working from the completed puzzle view. All things work together for our good (Romans 8:28). We are assured that every aspect in our lives – all the bumps and bruises, all the things that the enemy meant for harm –God is working it into something good.

Today’s One Thing

Consider purchasing a puzzle this week and as you put it together, think about all the pieces of your life that God has placed precisely into place over the last few years. Praise Him for those perfectly fit pieces, and the pieces you’re still not sure where they belong. Once you finish the puzzle, place it somewhere in your home to remind you of God’s faithfulness to work all things together for your good.
