His Amazing Grace

For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
─ Acts 13:39 TLB

His Amazing Grace

It had been a while since Debbie had sat in church. It was easy to stay home on Sunday morning when her church reopened after the pandemic forced them to shut their doors. She wasn’t fearful, just tired from the drama and chaos of the whole ordeal.

She slipped in late to avoid conversations about where she had been or why. Those closest to her knew and offered love and no judgement. She settled in and as the music played, she felt God’s loving arms embrace her, as if He was pleased to have her join her church family again. She watched as several people were baptized in water. Tears trickled down her face as she remembered the goodness of God’s amazing grace.

The verse today reminds you sin is no longer your master. You are set free from sin’s grip and are given the gift of God’s amazing grace. Without Jesus, you would have no choice but to remain a slave to sin, but His sacrifice paid a debt. You choose each day whom you serve.

Today’s One Thing

Read Romans 6:1-15. Give thanks to God today for giving you His grace and the choice to live free from guilt, sin and separation from Him. Think about the freedom you now have because Christ lives in you.
