How to Fix the World – Danny Gokey

Christian musical artist, Danny Gokey recently shared with Family Life Radio that he never understood the Scripture that says faith works by love. But he finally came to realize the meaning while writing his song, “Love God, Love People.”

For in Christ, neither our most conscientious religion nor disregard of religion amounts to anything. What matters is something far more interior: faith expressed in love.

Danny said, “When God loved us in our mess, we didn’t deserve His love … God told us He let His son die in our place, and then He said that we had a future and a hope.” 

So, what happened in that moment? “Faith rose up,” Danny continued, “And I started understanding that, the way the Bible says in the last day that the love of many will grow cold (Matthew 24:12). 

“When you love others who don’t deserve love, that’s when change happens.”

Danny noted a correlation as a sign of the end times between love growing cold and a lack of faith. Jesus asked if he would find faith when he returned to the earth (Luke 18:8). 

Danny said, “When we love others who don’t deserve love, that’s when change happens.” 

You are a mess without Jesus. We all are. Without him, there is nothing good inside of us. Danny encouraged each of us to start dealing with our own stuff, and only then can we begin to fix this world. Jesus is the answer – faith expressed through Him in love.
