In Surrender You Can Find Freedom

In the midst of life’s tumultuous waves, finding peace can often feel like a distant dream. Rhett Walker said, “I was worried about the stage, I was worried about speaking … I better figure this out, really quick.” (Read Rhett’s story here.)

And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

– Luke 12:25 NKJV

Often, it’s our attempt to control the uncontrollable that feeds our fears. Yet, in surrendering to God, we find freedom. This doesn’t mean our problems disappear, but rather, we choose to trust that God is bigger than our fears and capable of carrying us through them.

It’s in these moments of uncertainty that our faith is both tested and strengthened.

His peace begins in you with a step of faith, a decision to trust God with your worries, your plans, and your future. It’s about letting go of the illusion of control and embracing the reality of God’s sovereignty.

As you navigate the complexities of life, remember that God’s peace is available to you. It’s a peace that doesn’t always make sense to the world, because it comes not from resolving every issue but from trusting in God’s eternal care and wisdom.

Let this devotional be a steppingstone on your journey toward peace. With every worry you surrender, may you find a deeper trust in God, and with it, a peace that fills your heart and mind.

Today’s One Thing

Pray: “Lord, I often let worry and fear take hold of my heart. Today, I choose to surrender my worries to You. I ask for Your peace to guard my heart and mind. Thank You for Your promise of peace and for always being a source of comfort in times of anxiety. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
