Invited to Something More
When life shifts unexpectedly, your mind races to solve problems, secure stability, and control what comes next. We’re tempted to chase after what feels safe—money, approval, or a well-developed plan. But when we focus on these things first, peace becomes hard to find, and mental gymnastics lingers.
God invites you to something better. He calls you to seek Him first, before anything else, trusting that He will take care of your needs and guide your next steps.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
– Matthew 6:33 ESV
Consider how the sun rises each day without fail, the seasons change in perfect rhythm, and the ocean waves never cease. Creation reminds us that God sustains what He has made. Your life is no different. He has not abandoned you to figure things out on your own. You can count on Him to provide your needs right on time. When you place yourself in His care, you’re free from the burden of striving and your focus shifts to His faithfulness.
Seeking first His kingdom brings freedom.
Seeking God first means making Him your foundation. Instead of allowing worry to dictate your next step, you trust that God is already ahead of you. Prioritizing His kingdom brings clarity in times of change.
Instead of —
Reacting out of fear, rest in faith.
Grasping for control, surrender to the One who holds all things together.
This kind of trust doesn’t remove challenges, but it shifts your perspective. When God is your focus, you are no longer ruled by what-ifs but often given resolutions.
God knows your needs. He knows what concerns you, what keeps you up at night, and what weighs on your heart. Refuse to chase solutions; instead, seek the One who already has them. When you pursue God first above all else, you walk in His peace.
Today’s One Thing
Pray and seek the Lord. Establish, “I choose to seek God first, trusting that He will provide for all my needs and prioritize my actions.”
