Know Who You Are in Jesus with Josh Baldwin

In today’s world, fear can often consume our thoughts and actions. But as children of God, we can find peace and confidence in knowing who we are in Jesus Christ. As Joshua Baldwin reminds us, “We are His sons and daughters. Because of our love for God, there’s a confidence that comes in knowing who you are in Jesus.”

God is love. If we keep on loving others, we will stay one in our hearts with God, and he will stay one with us.
– 1 John 4:16 CEV

Understanding who you are in Jesus Christ is crucial to overcoming fear. As 1 John 4:16-18 states, “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear” (NKJV).

God’s love is about living a fulfilling and authentic life as a Christ follower.

Joshua Baldwin also shares, “Having a heart to please the Father is so much better than trying to follow a bunch of rules, living with a fear of getting something wrong and receiving a punishment. I don’t feel like the fruit that comes out of that is ever really the best fruit.”

It’s not just about avoiding fear, it’s also about living a fulfilling and authentic life as a Christ follower.

As we strive to please God, we must also trust in His goodness and faithfulness. Joshua reflects, “The Lord is constantly encouraging me, saying ‘Just trust me.’ And I always go back to remind myself of all that He’s done for me. When you take time to examine the evidence of His goodness all over your life, it builds your faith. You can trust that He’ll be there. He’ll be faithful to you.”

Today’s One Thing
In your daily walk with God, remember who you are in Christ, abide in love, strive to please the Father and trust in His goodness and faithfulness.
