Living the Secret

God decided to let his people know this rich and glorious secret which he has for all people. This secret is Christ himself, who is in you. He is our only hope for glory.

As we think about our children and grandchildren and the dreams we have for each of their lives, it’s sobering to think about the uncertain world they are growing up in. It becomes even more vitally important for our lives to reflect Christ to them every day.

As God sees you, what does He desire for you and for your family? Jesus, born in a manger, came to the earth with a gift—a secret God wanted you to experience and share with others. Jesus Christ came to live in us and work through us to bring every person closer to Him as we live our lives in His image.

Colossians 1:27 says, Jesus is our only hope for glory. Jesus grew up and gave His life for you and me. All He asks is that we live our lives as a reflection of His nature and character so that others see Him in us. When our lives don’t demonstrate His heart and hope for this world, it’s an indicator that we don’t trust Him to help us live the life He has called us to live.

The Good News is, He has given us three simple but powerful things we can do daily to be more like Him:

• Spend time with Him in prayer.
• Read the Bible to learn more about His character and nature.
• Let Him build our faith by remembering the times He has been faithful in our lives and in the lives of others.

That’s living the secret God wants you to experience.

Get alone with God today and ask Him to help you answer this question: Do I really live what I say I believe? Reflect on your choices, words and actions and be truly honest. Then ask Him to help you to live the life He has called you to live.
