Look Forward to the New

Have you imagined what eternity will be like? Since you belong to God, you are an eternal being and you are living an eternal life right now, but God promised in Revelations 21 to make all things new.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
─ Revelation 21:4 ESV

John, the revelator saw a new heaven and a new earth; he witnessed a new Jerusalem coming down, the city where God Himself lives among us. And his words record a freedom in our verse today. As God’s children, our new home will be free from the sorrow and pain of this world.

• God Himself will wipe every tear from your eye.
• Death will no longer exist.
• Mourning, crying and pain will be no more.

Eternity with God is beyond your wildest imaginations.

We can only imagine what a beautiful home the new heaven will hold for us. Eternity with God will be beyond anything this life can provide to us.

So, look to the new. Whatever sorrow, grief or pain your journey here on earth has brought, God’s next chapter in eternity will be filled with joy for all who love Him.

Practice experiencing God’s joy today. Think about the difference He’s made in your life since you’ve invited Him to share your life with you. Count your blessings by writing them or sharing them with a friend. Then celebrate and give Him praise.
