Love Endures All Things

Marriage is a sacred reflection of Christ’s love for His church—a bond forged by vows and strengthened through life’s highs and lows. Disagreements, unmet expectations, or seasons of hardship will challenge your resolve. But, in these moments, love shines brightest when your commitment endures because your focus and faith are in Christ.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
– 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV

When you choose to stay faithful to your marriage covenant, you exemplify the very love that Christ has for you. His love doesn’t hesitate in weakness or waver when you fall short. Instead, it persists, covering you with grace and urging you past difficulties. In the same way, your marriage calls you to reflect that enduring love—a love that is patient, kind, and committed to bear all things, believe all things, and hope all things.

Enduring love doesn’t ignore difficulties or pretend challenges don’t exist. Instead, it leans into God’s strength when yours feels depleted. It reminds you that your spouse is not your enemy but your partner —someone God has placed in your life to love and cherish.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

In a chaotic world that often views love as disposable and negotiable, you can live differently. Staying faithful to your covenant is an act of worship, a daily laying down of yourself to reflect God’s unchanging love.

Every marriage faces storms, but those storms don’t have to break your promises. When you anchor your love in Christ, He sustains you. He equips you to weather trials together, growing your bond and deepening your faith. As you rely on Him, your marriage becomes a living witness of His love and grace.

Today’s One Thing
Pray for God’s extra strength to discuss difficulties and give them to the Lord. Say to yourself, “God’s love empowers me to love my spouse with patience, kindness, and faithfulness.”
