Loved Lavishly with Evvie McKinney

The English dictionary describes the word lavish as “to bestow something in generous or extravagant quantities on” and “to cover something thickly or liberally with.” This is the kind of love your heavenly Father loves you with. It is generous and extravagant.

Picture a young mother, like Evvie, covering the sweet face of her Isabella with generous kisses. She doesn’t want to stop. She wants to give her everything good.

God lavishes His love on you, offering all that is best for you.

Zephaniah 3:17 says God delights in you and rejoices over you with singing. He LOVES you. He gave you His Son, Jesus, for the forgiveness of sins and in order to have a personal relationship with you. He wants to protect you from things that are not good for you, so He offers you the better way. He knows what makes you tick because He created you. He longs to give you perfect peace, joy and love like no other.

The gifts given to you out of God’s great love are numerous. Here are just a few:
• Freedom from sin through Christ’s sacrifice.
• Salvation and eternal life.
• Abundant life now.
• Grace (Gifts Received At Christ’s Expense).
• Mercy (not getting what you deserve).
• His Holy Spirit to guide, comfort and convict.
• An inheritance (a place at His table as one of His children).

Think about God’s love for you. Express your thanks to Him specifically for what means the most to you right now.
