More Than Enough

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

─ Malachi 3:10 NIV

LeAnna came downstairs to find her husband, Shane, stacking baby clothes in piles more than a foot deep, covering their entire large sectional couch. “Tell your mom not to buy any clothes for the baby for the first year,” he said looking up at her.

“Where did all this come from,” she asked with surprise.

“Three of the guys at work told their wives we were having a baby boy, and each brought me a 30 gallon trash bag piled full of baby boy clothes. Some of them have never been worn. They still have the tags on them,” he said with a big grin on his face.

“Wow! I just asked God a few days ago for some of the things we needed for the baby,” she giggled. “God really provided more than enough.”

Malachi 3:10 is a promise to every tither. When you give God the tithe, or the first tenth of your increase, He’ll open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so big that you can’t contain it all. That’s called overflow!

God is your provider. He desires to meet your needs abundantly. Whatever you have need of today, ask Him to take care of it for you in a special way. Don’t be surprised when He fulfills that desire and gives you more than you need, overflowing with plenty to share.

Today’s One Thing

Sometimes it feels like giving God ten percent is a lot. God loves you and will meet you where you’re at. Start where you can in your giving and God will honor your heart.
