Not by Sight
Do you trust the Lord? You stand at the edge of something unknown, or perhaps you stay in bed with heightened anxiety, with your heart pounding as you want clarity and assurance. But faith doesn’t wait for clear roads or visible outcomes—it calls you to trust the One who sees beyond the present. The world asks you to rely on what’s in front of you, but God invites you to walk confidently, knowing He holds what’s ahead.
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
– 2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV
Abraham walked away from his homeland without a map, led only by God’s promise. Peter stepped onto the waves while the storm still raged. The walls of Jericho fell, not because Israel saw a clear strategy but because they moved in obedience.
Faith doesn’t see every step but trusts the One who calls you forward. God asks you to take the next step, believing He has already established your future.
When uncertainty captivates your attention, your mind may demand answers. You want to see the provision before you trust the Provider. You want the healing before you believe the Healer. You want the outcome before you take the step. But walking by faith means surrendering your need for control, believing that God’s plans are far greater than any you can perceive.
Walking by faith produces peace.
When you fix your eyes on what’s temporary, fear takes root. But when you fix your heart on God’s faithfulness, you step forward with courage, even when the path ahead is unclear. His promises stand firm, whether you see the outcome today or years from now.
What step is God asking you to take today? Maybe it’s forgiving someone when you don’t see how reconciliation is possible. Perhaps it’s pursuing a calling when the resources aren’t visible. Maybe it’s trusting Him with a burden that feels too heavy to release. Whatever it is—faith will carry you where fear never could. You only need to trust God.
Today’s One Thing
Pray, asking the Holy Spirit to help you trust, and declare, “I choose to walk by faith, trusting that God’s plans are greater than what I can see.”
