One Deep Breath
During a conversation with Family Life Radio, Ellie Holcomb shared a spiritual connection in breathing. “When we take one deep breath, it’s as if we are saying the name of God, it’s as if we are praying.” Breath prayers can bring you closer to God.
The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
– Job 33:4 NLT
Job 33:4 reminds you that every breath you take is a testimony to God’s life-giving presence in you. Your very existence and every breath are gifts from the Creator, saturated with the potential to connect you back to Him.
Imagine this: Each inhale is an act of receiving God’s grace and each exhale a release of trust in His plan. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or lost, remember that each breath is an opportunity to refocus on God, to remember His love and His sovereignty. Breathing becomes a quiet yet powerful form of prayer, a silent acknowledgment of God’s omnipresence.
Let breathing become a silent acknowledgment of God’s omnipresence.
Let this understanding transform your perspective. When faced with challenges, instead of succumbing to panic or fear, turn to your breath as a reminder of God’s constant presence. In moments of joy and triumph, let your breath be an expression of gratitude and praise.
May the words of this devotion inspire you to find solace in the simplicity and power of breathing, seeing it as a divine connection and a constant reminder of God’s presence in your life.
Today’s One Thing
In your quiet time, give thanks to the Lord for the gift of life. Let each breath you take remind you of His faithfulness in your life.
