Pause and Appreciate Life

It’s easy to get caught up in the fast-paced rhythm of our world today, isn’t it? When Family Life Radio asked Austin French if he could choose between a rewind or a pause button, he chose the pause.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.

– Ecclesiastes 3:1 ESV

Would you rather go back and change things, or would you prefer to hit pause and savor the moments as they come?

Austin’s choice of the pause button speaks volumes, doesn’t it? He acknowledges that every moment, every twist and turn, happens for a reason. It’s a beautiful reminder that God’s hand is intricately woven into the fabric of our lives, guiding us through each step, whether it’s a moment of pain or a moment of joy.

Isn’t it comforting to know that there’s a purpose for every moment, even if we don’t always understand it at the time?

Time is precious, every moment a gift from God.

So, how can you hit the pause button in your own life? It might mean putting away distractions, whether it’s your phone buzzing with notifications or the pressures of the outside world vying for your attention. Perhaps for you, it’s prioritizing the things that truly matter – spending time with loved ones, nurturing relationships, and soaking in the beauty of the present moment.

In those moments with your family, take a deep breath and let it sink in. Recognize the preciousness of that time, knowing that these moments are gifts from God. As you do, you’ll find yourself living more intentionally, savoring each moment with a grateful heart.

Today’s One Thing

Take a moment and pray: “Dear God, thank you for the gift of each moment, whether it brings joy or challenges. Help me to hit the pause button in my life, to slow down and appreciate the beauty around me. Teach me to prioritize what truly matters and to treasure the time I have with my loved ones. May every breath be a reminder of your presence and your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
