Protect Your Prayerful Moments

Life can be a whirlwind, can’t it? Between work, family and the myriad responsibilities that fill your days, finding time to connect with God can sometimes feel like one more item on an already overwhelming to-do list. But what if you could find God in the midst of the chaos? What if you could carve out moments of stillness, no matter how busy life gets?

Now therefore, stand and see this great thing which the Lord will do before your eyes.

– 1 Samuel 12:16 NKJV

Bart Millard of Mercy Me offers a simple yet profound insight: “Me personally, I just try to find time to be still … It really is like being protective like you would be for … those things that are important to you.”

The words from our verse today “stand and see” speaks to God’s deep desire for us to stop and tune in to Him. It doesn’t mean you have to carve out an hour of quiet time; it can be as simple as taking a few deep breaths before a meeting, saying a quick prayer as you pick up your kids from school or reflecting on a Bible verse during your commute.

Time for prayer is something worth fighting for, something to protect and prioritize.

The point is to make room for God in the midst of your busy life, to find stillness in the chaos. So today, take Bart’s advice to heart. Be protective of those moments that allow you to connect with God. Prioritize them, fight for them and most importantly, cherish them. Because it’s in those moments of stillness that you’ll find the peace and guidance you’re longing for.

Take this moment to stand still and see that He is God.

Today’s One Thing

Say aloud: “Today, I choose to stand still and take notice of Your presence, God. I will protect and prioritize my time with You, knowing that it’s in these moments that I find true peace and direction.”
