Reflecting God’s Kingdom
Worship is meant to be a reflection of God’s heart and His kingdom. But sometimes, you may look around a church and feel like something is missing—like you don’t fully see yourself represented. God’s kingdom is vast, diverse, and inclusive, and it’s important to Thrive Worship that they reflect that same beautiful variety.
I looked again. I saw a huge crowd, too huge to count. Everyone was there—all nations and tribes, all races and languages. And they were standing, dressed in white robes and waving palm branches.
– Revelation 7:9 MSG
Charmaine Wells, one of the band’s vocalists, shared with us, “It’s super important for them to see somebody like me… I get a lot of girls that approach me that look like me… they feel like they can because I’ll understand them.”
Our verse today paints a picture of heaven where, “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language,” stand together before the throne of God in worship. Diversity is at the heart of God’s plan, and when worship reflects that diversity, it creates a powerful space for everyone to connect with Him.
When it comes to worship, everyone belongs, and everyone can draw near to God.
When worship embraces the diversity of God’s creation, it reflects the fullness of His kingdom. Everyone belongs, and everyone can draw near to God. It breaks down barriers and helps others see themselves as valued members of the body of Christ.
Let your heart and your worship reflect His love for every person and watch how He moves to break down barriers and draw you closer to Him and each other.
Today’s One Thing
Pray: “Lord, thank You for creating a kingdom that includes people from every nation, tribe, and language. Help me to embrace the beauty of diversity in worship and see others as You see them. Use me to create spaces where everyone feels included and valued in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
